Pick-up is carried out privately and flexibly in all areas of Banyuwangi City, such as hotels, homestays, Ketapang Station, Banyuwangi City Station, Karangente Terminal, and Ketapang Harbor. Pick-up time starts at midnight between 00.00 and 00.30 WIB.
Yes, mandatory. In accordance with the official regulations of the East Java KSDA Center, every climber is required to attach a Health Certificate confirming that they are free from a history of acute asthma and heart disease. If you haven't had time to make it in your hometown, our driver will take you to a 24-hour clinic in Banyuwangi before leaving for Paltuding Post.
The best time is during the dry season between April and October when the skies are clear and there is minimal fog. The blue flames (Blue Fire) were only visible in pitch darkness at the bottom of the crater between 02.30 and 04.30 WIB before sunrise.
Suitable for beginners. The track from Paltuding Post to the top of the crater is about 3 kilometers with a leisurely travel time of 1.5 to 2 hours on a wide sandy dirt track. If participants, children or the elderly feel tired on the climbs, there is an alternative trolley/wheelbarrow rental service ("Ijen taxi") driven by local residents at the Paltuding Post.
Because we have provided gas masks and flashlights, you only need to bring: Thick / windproof jacket (night temperature ranges from 8°C to 13°C). Sports/trekking shoes with non-slip ridged soles. Gloves and head warmer/beanie. Change of clothes and enough drinking water.
Participants' safety is the top priority. If there is an official closure from PVMBG or BBKSDA, the Enthusiast Picnic team will provide the option of rescheduling or diverting the tourist route to an alternative destination in Banyuwangi (such as De Djawatan Forest, Jagir Waterfall, or Kemiren Traditional Village) according to mutual agreement.
